accountant counting money

How do you think is it better to pay a large amount of money at once on a bill, or make consistent payments over time?

This is a common dilemma which many of us face, i.e. to make one time payment or to pay in EMIs. The decision becomes tricky when you are on a tight budget each month. Let’s find out which decision is better under which circumstances:

EMIs are always attractive but at what price

This is quite common especially during the season of sales, you get tempted to purchase many products which are offered at huge discounts. Most often we go for the EMI option because we can purchase more items but do we even realize that there is a ROI which you have to pay once you convert your purchase into monthly instalments.

Also what you get as a Zero percent EMI option is actually a product priced at a higher rate than what you purchase it in one go. This is the trick which the sellers follow. So there is no such thing as Zero percent EMI.

Not every time you can afford to pay the full price of the product

You are a student and want to purchase a laptop out of your pocket money which is limited for every month. Can you in this case pay the entire money in one go, the answer is obviously no. There is no choice than to buy the laptop on EMIs.

It you can pay it each month through your pocket money nothing can be batter than that. So EMIs are not always bad, it depends on your income and circumstances.
